Get Lucky

Season 1 • Episode 2

Get Lucky

Ed struggles to juggle his family and school life as his father becomes increasingly abusive; when a unique opportunity presents itself, Ed finds himself conflicted by his feelings for Stella.

Ed has always acted like he doesn’t care what anyone thinks – about school, his music, or the mess waiting for him at home. But beneath the jokes and attitude, he’s becoming increasingly desperate to prove that he can actually make something of himself.

When an unexpected opportunity gives Ed the chance to perform his music in public, he starts to wonder whether his dream of becoming a musician might finally be within reach. There’s just one problem: putting himself out there means risking exactly what he fears most – being laughed at, judged, or told he isn’t good enough.

Stella unexpectedly becomes one of the few people encouraging him to take the chance, and despite everything that happened between them, the two begin to find their way back into each other’s lives. But as Stella gets closer, she also begins to notice that there’s more going on with Ed than he wants anyone to know.

At home, Ed’s relationship with his dad Frank is becoming harder to ignore. What Ed dismisses as normal behaviour starts raising questions among his friends, and when those questions reach Stella, Ed reacts badly. Determined to protect a secret he’s deeply ashamed of, he begins pushing away the very people trying to help him.

As pressure builds at school and at home, Ed’s anger starts spilling over. His music becomes one of the only things giving him a sense of control – but even that comes at a cost, and a confrontation with his dad forces both of them to face how far things have deteriorated.

With his first real performance approaching, Ed finally has a chance to prove himself. But on the way there, he finds Stella alone, drunk and vulnerable.

Ed is suddenly forced to choose between the opportunity he’s been chasing and someone who may need him more than she’s willing to admit.

And whatever he decides, the consequences could change far more than just one night.
