Stella has been hiding just how bad things have become. Sleeping wherever she can and even using the school showers, she’s determined not to admit that she effectively has nowhere to live.

But teacher Jade is beginning to notice.

What starts as concern slowly develops into an unexpected friendship, and Stella finds herself opening up to someone she never imagined she could trust. The more Jade learns about Stella’s home life, however, the harder it becomes for her to remain simply a sympathetic teacher.

Meanwhile, Heidi retaliates against Tabby in a way that could have serious consequences, leaving Tabby facing accusations of drug possession and an impossible choice: protect someone she still cares about, or finally tell the truth.

Dani is also discovering just how far Freya’s jealousy has gone. After learning that Freya interfered with her contact with Ingrid, another disturbing incident forces Dani to question whether the relationship she has been trying to save is actually something she needs to escape.

As secrets start coming out, Stella is forced to choose between loyalty and doing what she knows is right.
