At the insistence of her grandmother to get out of the house, Stella meets up with school friends Heidi and Tabby. While trying to buy vodka from a local bottle shop Stella bumps into her schoolteacher Jade – will she bust her for buying liquor underage?
With Ingrid gone, Stella is beginning to realise just how empty her life feels without her. Determined not to sit around thinking about it, she tries surrounding herself with new people instead — namely Heidi and Tabby.
It seems like a simple night out, but Stella soon discovers she may have invited two people who are far more interested in each other than they are in her. The constant friction between Heidi and Tabby begins to look suspiciously like chemistry, leaving Stella on the outside of a connection she didn’t see coming.
Meanwhile, Ruby’s pregnancy scare forces Ed to confront what being with her might actually mean. He wants to do the right thing, but Ruby begins questioning whether he wants her — or whether he’s only stepping up because he believes he has to.
Dani becomes unexpectedly attached to a stray cat, creating another point of tension with Freya. What should be a small problem starts exposing how differently the two women see the world — until Freya makes a grand gesture that seems almost too perfect.
As Stella watches new relationships forming around her, she begins to understand that what she’s missing might not simply be a best friend.
She wants someone to choose her.
